If your child already has a dancer profile, claim it rather than creating a new one. Claiming links the existing record to your account, so their history, entries, and results stay in one place.
When to Claim
- Their studio registered them for an event
- They already have their own dancer account
- They competed at a previous event on Kompdesk
How to Claim
Open Claim Existing Dancer from the More menu, the dashboard, or My Dancers. The claim page runs in four steps.
- Verify the dancer: enter their surname, date of birth, and full ID number. These are matched against profiles already on the system.
- Say who you are: choose I am their parent/guardian. The other option, I am the dancer, is for a dancer claiming their own profile.
- Confirm: check the name and studio shown are the right child.
- Sign in: sign in to your account, or create one if you do not have it yet.
Once confirmed, the dancer appears on your dashboard. No duplicate profile is created.
If No Match Is Found
| Cause | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Details differ from what the studio captured | Ask the studio to confirm the exact surname, date of birth, and ID on file |
| Profile does not exist yet | Use Create Dancer instead |
| ID number typed partially | Enter the full ID number, not only the last digits |
More Than One Child
Claim each child separately. Claimed and created dancers behave identically once they are on your account.
