How Registration Works
Your studio owner typically handles event registration for you:
- Your studio registers for the event
- They add you to the entry roster
- You're automatically included in entries they create
- No action required from you
Creating Your Own Account
Create your own Kompdesk account to access your personal event portal:
- View your personal schedule and performance times
- See your results, scores, and judge feedback
- Download certificates
- Track your entries across events
Self-Registration
You can also register yourself for an event:
- Get the studio code from your teacher
- Create your Kompdesk account at Register as Independent Dancer
- Go to the event page and click "Register"
- Select your studio using the studio code
- Complete your dancer profile
- You'll appear in your studio's event dashboard automatically
Linking to Your Studio
During event registration, you link to your studio by entering the studio code your teacher provides. This code looks like MARIOSDANCE or RHYTHMSTUD2. Once linked, your entries and results are visible to both you and your studio.
What You'll See
Once registered for an event, your dancer portal includes:
- Dashboard: Quick overview with stats and achievements
- My Entries: All routines you're performing
- Schedule: When and where you perform (with live updates on event day)
- Results: Scores, placements, and judge feedback (after release)
- Certificates: Downloadable Gold, Silver, and Bronze certificates
- Venue and Info: Event location, rules, and competition details
Online Competitions
Some events are online competitions: instead of performing live, each entry is judged from a performance video (a YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive link added to the entry before the submission deadline). Judges score the videos during the event's judging window, and results appear in your portal once the organiser publishes them.
For online events there's no venue or schedule, so those portal tabs are hidden. Your entries and their video status live on the My Entries page. If you register independently and create your own entries, see "Submitting Entries" for how the video field works.
