You can enable music uploads during competition creation or afterwards in the event settings.
During Competition Creation (Wizard)
- In the Competition Wizard, navigate to the Music Upload step (step 15)
- Toggle Require Music Upload to on
- Optionally set a minimum audio quality:
| Quality Setting | Bitrate | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| No minimum | Any | Accept all files regardless of quality |
| 128 kbps | Acceptable | Basic quality, fine for rehearsal tracks |
| 192 kbps | Good | Recommended: good balance of quality and file size |
| 256 kbps | High Quality | Best for professional recordings |
- Continue to the next step. You can always change these settings later
After Competition Creation (Event Settings)
- Open your competition from the Organiser Dashboard
- Go to the Music section in the event settings sidebar
- Toggle Music Upload on or off
- Set or change the minimum bitrate requirement
- Save your changes
What Studios and Dancers See
When music upload is enabled:
- The entry form shows a music upload area with drag-and-drop support
- Uploading music is required before an entry can be submitted
- A quality warning appears if the file is below your minimum bitrate
- A time limit warning appears if the music is longer than the allowed performance time
Monitoring Music Uploads
In the Music settings section you can see:
- How many entries are missing music files
- A breakdown by studio of entries without uploads
- This helps you follow up with studios before the event
- The Music tab on the Event Dashboard also checks that uploaded files are still in storage, every night. A track whose file has gone missing is listed in the integrity panel, and this includes the music for battles. A track the check could not verify is listed separately as unverified rather than as missing
